What does the stars’ Christmas menu look like? “We always have raclette because it’s a nice holiday dish,” reveals Hans Sigl.

Roast goose, sausages with potato salad or simply raclette? What does the stars’ Christmas menu look like? That comes with Rudi Cerne, Hans Sigl or Sarah Connor on the table.

A classic Christmas goose

Moderator Rudi Cerne (64): “The goose is very classic. It’s already in the freezer. Then the father, in this case me, will spend more or less the whole Christmas Eve preparing it. That’s a great tradition for me. You can really relax and the scent wafts through the whole house. Then there’s a little gift giving and then we have a leisurely meal.”

Designer Natascha Ochsenknecht (58): “My Christmas goose with dumplings and red cabbage should never be missing. And of course biscuits.”

Singer Sarah Connor (42): “My husband and I stand in the kitchen in the morning and make the roast goose.”

Designer Claudia Effenberg (57): “I haven’t cooked for Christmas for three years, everything is taken out of my hands. I let myself be served! My daughter has taken over the scepter and my husband cooks the main course.”

Polish roots

Model Alena Gerber (33): “My mother has Silesian roots and can cook wonderfully hearty. I’m also trying my hand at it, but I’m far from her level. Usually we have many different dishes so that everyone is really happy and we everyone can eat for hours. But my favorite Christmas tradition is the big spaetzle at my grandma’s on Boxing Day. We are twelve ‘grandchildren’ and some of us now have families of our own, but everyone huddles at their table, which is under huge pots of spaetzle almost bends really. And like before, there’s still a little scuffle when she puts them on the table. But I’m the oldest and fortunately the rule says I get to take mine first.”

Actress Natalia Avelon (42): “I love the traditional Polish dishes that are only available at Christmas and the smell of which brings back so many memories from my childhood. I also love gingerbread and only eat it at Christmas! It reminds me of them Times when my grandparents were still alive and triggers many beautiful emotions.”

Raclette, fondue or sausages?

Actor Hans Sigl (53): “We always have raclette because it’s a nice holiday dish.”

Actor Mark Keller (57): “It’s also relatively easy for me: I do my sport before eating and then we sometimes have cheese fondue, sometimes something else. In any case, it’s always relatively easy for us.”

Annemarie Carpendale (45): “We invite the whole family, we celebrate quite traditionally with raclette and fondue.”

Singer Anna-Carina Woitschack (30): “My mom has the best potato salad and sausages! I rarely eat meat, but it has to be at Christmas.”

In Italy there is fish

Singer Matteo Bocelli (25): “It’s a tradition in Italy to eat fish on Christmas Eve, with the famous tortellini en brodo (tortellini in broth) and for dessert, of course, panettone, a kind of sweet bread. I love it all!”
