With family, friends or preferably far away? The news agency spot on news asked the celebrities about their Christmas plans.
Christmas in the snow
Presenter Andrea Kaiser (40): “Christmas is celebrated with the whole family: with my mum, my aunt and uncle and of course my husband we celebrate together in Kitzbühel in the mountains. Really nice with a Christmas tree, kitsch and Co. But if it If I were me, I’d love to go somewhere nice and warm on December 25th, but my son and husband love skiing. It’s two against one. That’s why I spend my winter in the snow.”
Model Alena Gerber (33): “We’ve always celebrated in the Maldives in recent years, which was also my wish for this year, but my husband wanted to go skiing in Austria. We’ll celebrate together with my in-laws in a hut in the snow . Our daughter is already really good at skiing and I am very, very grateful that we can offer her such trips and experiences.”
Winter sports legend Maria Höfl-Riesch (38): “It’s a bit difficult for us as a family because everyone is so spread out. My husband’s parents live near Nuremberg, my parents live in Garmisch. I still have two siblings , my husband also has a sister. We usually do a little tour a week before Christmas, where we visit everyone again and bring the presents. My husband and I like to spend Christmas Eve alone in Kitzbühel. That’s nice too.”
Ex-“Bachelorette” Jessica Haller (32): “We celebrate Christmas with the whole family. Our family is spread all over Germany, so we decided to pack everyone up to celebrate Christmas together in the mountains.”
Moderator Thomas Hermanns (59): “We’re celebrating Christmas with friends in Vienna this year. I always find the city to be very Christmassy and suitable for the holidays. We’ll be comfortable there in Austria, that means with a lot of Sachertorte and otherwise just as light Viennese cuisine.”
The family gets together
Moderator Jana Ina Zarrella (46): “My mom comes to Germany and we all celebrate with us. Our families come together and we celebrate Christmas Eve. We pray, eat, sing and open gifts. I love it when everyone is together and the house is full. It reminds me of when I was a kid, when all my cousins would be there and we would celebrate together – I’ve always loved Christmas because of that.”
Actress Lilly Krug (21): “Christmas without my family is not Christmas, no matter where we are and no matter where we celebrate, we have to be together, that’s the most important thing.”
Singer Sarah Connor (42): “We prefer to celebrate Christmas at home. Santa Claus comes and everyone has to present something, then there is the gift.”
Designer Natascha Ochsenknecht (58): “We’re celebrating for the first time this year with Cheyenne, Mavie and Nino at the farm in Graz. My mother and brother are also coming. I’m very excited and looking forward to it. Nino’s whole family is there for the first time.”
Presenter Nele Ludowig (19): “We celebrate every year with grandma and grandpa, with the whole family. We eat, drink and sing karaoke. My go-to song is ‘That’s What Makes You Beautiful’ by One Direction.”
Model Rebecca Mir (30): “We celebrate big with the whole family. We decorate the tree together and listen to Christmas music. The Italian part of the family does the cooking, which is always very tasty.”
Designer Claudia Effenberg (57): “Unfortunately, we had several deaths in the family this year, including my mother and stepfather. That’s why I’m just happy this year that I have the people around me who I love more than anything and that they are fine.”
