The Boston Celtics keep alive their chances of reaching the NBA finals with a dramatic win. In game six, the Celtics beat the Miami Heat in the last second and equalized with their third win in a row.
A buzzer beater by Derrick White gave the Boston Celtics the decisive game seven against the Miami Heat in the semifinals of the NBA playoffs. With the final siren, the guard in the Kaseya Center in Miami scored for the guests to make it 104:103 and thus ensured the 3:3 equalization in the series. Miami also missed its third match point to advance to the finals against the Denver Nuggets.
The decision will now be made on Tuesday night (2.30 a.m.), record champions Boston then have the home advantage. In the dramatic sixth game of the series, star player Jayson Tatum was the Celtics’ top pitcher with 31 points. On the Miami side, Jimmy Butler once again stood out with 24 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
“I’m glad we won, whatever the cost, we had our backs to the wall,” said White. “We’re a resilient group, we pull each other along, we fought for each other.” However, the work is “not done yet”.
Should Boston prevail in game seven as well, the Heat would have squandered a 3-0 lead in a best-of-seven series as the first team in NBA history. The search is on for the final opponent of the Nuggets around the two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in their semifinals without any problems.
