(Boursier.com) — Cenergy Holdings announces that Hellenic Cables, its Cables segment and leading provider of submarine cable solutions for global offshore wind, has been awarded individual contracts with Ørsted and Eversource for two offshore wind projects in the United States.
Under these contracts, Hellenic Cables will design, manufacture, test and supply approximately 260km of 66kV XLPE insulated inter-array submarine cables and associated accessories for South Fork. Wind and Revolution Wind in the northeastern United States. Production will be staggered through 2024 according to the delivery plan of each individual project.
Ørsted and Eversource are developing these projects which, when completed, will produce approximately 830 MW of clean energy, enough to power more than 420,000 homes. These offshore wind farms will make a significant contribution to achieving the state’s clean energy goals.
Hellenic Cables and Ørsted are continuing their discussions regarding a possible partnership for the construction of an inter-network submarine cable plant in Maryland, USA.
