Roborock presents its new flagship, the S7 MaxV Ultra. This robot differs from its many predecessors by its charging station which must not only empty the collector, but also clean the mop.
As usual, Roborock takes advantage of CES in Las Vegas to present its latest robot vacuum cleaner. Called S7 MaxV Ultra, it differs from its predecessor, the Roborock S7, by its particularly imposing charging station.
It is massive, because it provides for no less than three reservoirs. One accommodates a bag with a capacity of 2.5 l and must collect the waste sucked by the device and thus free the user from emptying, while the other two are provided for the mop. One, with a capacity of 3 l, is to be filled with water to clean it as soon as the robot returns to the station, while the second, of 2.3 l, is supposed to recover the used water after washing. A clever technique that can be found in particular on the Yeedi Mop Station.
The mop mode, precisely, is still equipped with the VibraRise system inaugurated on the Roborock S7. This technology allows the mop to lift a few millimeters when the robot detects a carpet or any waterproof surface. It is thus possible to make its robot travel in all the rooms without having to remove the carpets first.
The S7 MaxV Ultra benefits from improved object recognition: equipped with a new pair of cameras, it is able to detect specific objects crossed in its path. Like the S6 MaxV before it, this new robot recognizes small everyday objects and indicates through pictures on the app what type of obstacle it encounters (socks, shoes, cables, etc.).
3D mapping
Obstacle detection should still be more precise than on its predecessor and thus allow it to bypass them more quickly. The device must therefore be able to identify the type of floor it sucks (hard floor, carpet, etc.) in order to recommend to its owner the most suitable cleaning method. In addition, the Roborock app has a facelift and now presents a 3D map of the household in which the robot is moving.
On the autonomy side, the S7 MaxV Ultra should be slightly more enduring than its predecessors, sailing for up to 3 hours before running out of steam (as a reminder, the Roborock S7 waves its white flag after 1 hour 35 minutes of racing. ).
You will have to wait before testing the S7 MaxV Ultra since it will only be available from the second quarter of 2022 at a price of € 1,399.
By presenting its new flagship, the manufacturer intends to democratize automatic charging bases. In fact, Roborock will launch in the course of the first quarter a new more accessible range, called Q. This series should include more affordable robots, but also delivered with an automatic dump station.
