The i Vision DEE (for Digital Emotional Experience) is a prototype sporty and classic saloon from BMW whose design is resolutely inspired by the models built by the brand in the 1960s. Far from being backward, however, the car aims to be turned towards the future; it adopts Neue Klasse, the technical platform and the voluntarily minimalist design on which will be based BMW’s electric vehicles from 2025.

More than a car, the i Vision DEE is, in BMW’s own words, an ideal digital partner. Its technology will allow it tointeract with his driver and accompany him “on a journey between reality and the virtual world”. To guarantee this immersion, BMW will equip it with a windshield which will serve as a central control element. Thanks to “BMW Mixed Reality Slider” technology and “Shy-Tech” touch sensors integrated into the dashboard, it will be possible to choose the number and type of information that you want to see displayed. This could range from a simple speedometer to augmented reality projectionthrough conversations drawn from a messenger.

The company emphasizes the emotional side of its prototype by emphasizing the man-machine dialogue: while driving, “ voice interaction becomes primary control mode “.

The E-Ink technology is doomed to success if BMW actually implements it. She allows to change car exterior color “according to the wishes and the situation”. The concept is not brand new, the company having unveiled it to the public on the same stage last year, with the SUV iX Flow. In addition, the i Vision Dee welcomes you in a personalized way by displaying your avatar and a welcome message on the side window. As evidenced by the video posted on YouTube, many of the ideas presented here sound like science fiction. BMW has two years to develop its new Neue Klasse.
