CES 2023 — Cordzero A9 Kompressor: LG’s stick vacuum cleaner is armed with a steam brush

A little over two years ago, LG presented the Cordzero A9 Kompressor. Since passing through our laboratory, the intriguing stick vacuum cleaner with dust compaction system has won us over in many ways, and it should soon be able to count on another asset. In anticipation of CES 2023, which will start in a few days, the Korean has already unveiled several of its upcoming novelties, including a new version of the Cordzero A9 Kompressor.

A steam brush to vacuum and wash floors at the same time

If the engine block does not seem to evolve, just like the telescopic tube, this new version nevertheless includes an important novelty, so much so that it gives it its name: Cordzero A9 Kompressor with Steam Power Mop. It is therefore a brush that must allow it not only to pick up waste on the floor, but also to remove stains. A washing brush was already offered before. The new takes the same system of wet and rotating pads, but adds a steam generator. LG specifies that this allows the pads to be maintained at a temperature of 60°C and that an independent organization has validated the effectiveness of the system: the new brush of the Cordzero A9 Kompressor would be much more effective than a simple damp mop, especially for removing dried chocolate.

To avoid the risk of accidents, the steam generator is automatically stopped if the brush is lifted or held in the same position for 20 seconds. The rotation of the skates will also stop after one minute of inactivity.

A second model with the All-in-One station

If this is not strictly speaking a novelty, it should nevertheless be noted that this Cordzero A9 Kompressor with Steam Mop Power comes with the All-in-One station of the ULTRA1C version. As its name suggests, it is a multifunction station. In addition to recharging the device between two uses like the station of the model we tested, it takes care of emptying its collector. To do this, it is equipped with a suction system and a dust bag, which you will still have to remember to replace when it is full. LG does not give an estimate of how often it will have to be done, but the bag should logically be able to contain more dust than the collector… the latter’s Kompressor system also loses some interest if it is automatically emptied after each use.

Remember, however, that this system is not new. It is certainly more common on robot vacuum cleaners, but Samsung also offers it for its Bespoke Jet Pro Extra VS20A95973B. LG’s multifunction station is also equipped with indicators allowing it to give some information to the user, but it should be remembered that the engine block does not offer any and is content with diodes to indicate the battery level. The All-in-One station should also be able to accommodate the various accessories provided. For this first look, however, LG hasn’t given a full list, but we’ll be sure to add to this article when we have more information. Neither price nor release date have been announced.
