CES 2023 – Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240: Corsair’s 240 Hz 27-inch Oled monitor

The Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 features a 27-inch OLED panel supporting a native refresh rate of 240 Hz. It displays a WQHD definition of 2560 x 1440 pixels, 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, viewing angles of 178° and, above all, a response time of 0.03 ms, much faster than LCD panel monitors (IPS, TN or VA), the best of which announce 1 ms.

This panel supports FreeSync/AdaptiveSync and is advertised as G-Sync compatible between 48 and 240 Hz with LFC (Low Frame Compensation) support for frequencies below 48 Hz. As a reminder, FreeSync/G-Sync technologies avoid tearing of the image and the microsaccades, by stalling the frequency of the screen on the number of images per second sent by the graphics card.

Oled technology requires, the contrast is infinite since the brightness of each pixel is managed individually. Until now, the Oled panels used on the monitors were mainly QD-Oled (Quantum Dot Oled) panels manufactured by Samsung Diplay, but only in 34-inch format. Since the beginning of the year, LG Display has been manufacturing Oled panels for monitors in 27 and 45 inch formats.

The finishes of the Corsdair monitor are exemplary. On the ergonomics side, there are all the possible adjustments: the adjustment of the inclination between -7 and +15°, the height on 11 cm, the rotation on ±30° and even a pivot for the passage in portrait mode. In terms of connectivity, the monitor offers two HDMI inputs, a DisplayPort input, a USB-C port (video), a classic USB-C port, four USB 3.0 ports and a headphone output. It behaves like a keyboard mouse switch (KVM) to control two sources from the mouse keyboard connected to the screen. The connection is therefore very complete. We can simply blame him for not offering charging on the USB-C port, which would allow a laptop to be charged.

The Corsair Xeneon 27QHD240 is already on sale for a price of around 1200 €. We haven’t tested it, but it should display image quality rarely seen on a monitor. Oled technology on PC monitors is very recent and keeps its promises for the moment, as we saw during the test of the Philips Evnia 34M2C8600, equipped with a QD-Oled panel. We will soon receive LG’s Oled monitor, the UltraGear 27GR95QE. The test will be published during the month of June.
