CES 2023 day 1: the big announcements not to be missed (GeForce RTX 40, Acer Predator and Nitro, Evie connected ring, and others)


The first day of CES 2023 is coming to an end, and we’re on the ground getting an up-close look at all the innovative products from computers to TVs shown this year.

Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 40 GPUs are coming

Announced a long time ago, it is here: the GeForce RTX 40 GPU graphics card is coming to laptops. Faster, more efficient and more powerful, powered by Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace architecture, it will be present on many laptops from Alienware, Acer, HP and Lenovo.

If your kids are complaining about not being able to play the console when you’re traveling in the car, Nvidia’s GeForce Now is teaming up with manufacturers BYD, Hyundai and Polestar to bring a cloud gaming service into cars. Rest assured, this cloud service will allow family members to play in the backseat only.

Acer: New Predator and Nitro gaming laptops

With the new Nitro 16 and 17 inch and Predator Helios 16 and 18 models, Acer brings even more power to its laptops. These models include the Nvidia RTX 40 graphics card mentioned above. And Acer also showed off a 45-inch curved OLED gaming monitor.

LG: new OLED TVs

LG is offering new versions of its C2, G2 and Z2 consumer TV models. All these TV screens will be equipped with a new a9 AI processor Gen6 chip, enough to satisfy movie buffs and gamers alike.

Intel: The 13 Processor Familye generation grows

Intel launched its new processor last September, but that’s not stopping the company from presenting a deluge of new processor versions at CES 2023. Enough to boost the chipsets of laptops and Chromebooks.

Evie launches wearable smart ring for women

Evie Ring is a connected ring that carries, for example, an oximeter function. It can also track women’s health, such as tracking menstrual cycle, heart rate, and skin temperature. This object could even allow women to monitor their morale, in order to help them know why they are doing well or less well.

Samsung: new OLED and 8K monitors for gamers

Samsung has announced new models in its Odyssey line: the Odyssey OLED G9, a 49-inch gaming monitor with “dual UHD” technology, and the Odyssey Neo G9. Also announced today is the ViewFinity S9 5K studio monitor.

Along with the Odyssey G9 monitors, Samsung has also unleashed a plethora of consumer TVs, including the QLED QN900C 8K, QLED S95C 4K, and OLED S95C 4K models. On the lifestyle side, Samsung also showed off the latest iterations of the Freestyle, The Premium, and The Frame models.
