CES 2023 – Dual lens and 4K video for new Reolink surveillance cameras

Reolink continues to expand its catalog by betting on dual-lens cameras. Two new models were presented at CES 2023: the Argus Track and the RLC-81MA. 4K video is also becoming widespread, with the latter, but also with the Argus PT 4K.

Two cameras will therefore enrich the Argus range. Like the Argus 3 Pro – and all the models that make it up – they are battery-operated for simplified installation, but differ in their optical formula. The Argus Track relies on two 4-megapixel sensors which, unlike those of the Duo cameras, film in the same direction, but with different focal lengths to offer a close view of moving subjects, which it can also follow thanks to a motorization. Reolink therefore uses the TrackMix concept for this model, more accurately able to recognize – and track – people, vehicles and pets.

For its part, the Argus PT 4K relies on a little more classic equipment, but its single sensor allows it to film up to 4K. Reolink presents it as its first battery-powered 4K camera. It is also motorized, and able to track and recognize people, vehicles and animals. The two new Argus cameras are also equipped with a projector to film in color at night and offer a dual-band wifi connection.

Finally, the RLC-81MA brings together the best of Argus Track and PT 4K, since it includes two 8-megapixel sensors. Each can therefore provide 4K images, again with different zoom levels. It also offers the same intelligent detection options as well as a projector, but this RLC-81MA is however devoid of motorization, battery and wifi. It therefore requires a wired connection for the power supply as well as for Internet access, but only one wire is necessary since the power supply passes through Ethernet (PoE).

For the time being, Reolink has not communicated any price or release date for its three new cameras, but we can add that LTE versions of the Duo 2 and the TrackMix are also announced.
