CES in Las Vegas is an opportunity for many PC manufacturers to unveil their new products alongside announcements from Intel, AMD and Nvidia. Dell therefore engages in hostilities with no less than six models gaming Alienware and Dell G which will benefit from the latest GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards from Nvidia and 13th generation Intel processors.

The m18, debauchery of power

The 18-inch format is likely to be talked about this year by replacing the 17-inch in large portable PCs. The m18 will thus be the first model of this format at Alienware and will assert itself as a real workstation and game. It will integrate an Intel Core i9-13900HX at most and a GeForce RTX 4080 or 4090, enough to see the performance ( and the price of the PC) soar. This monster can carry up to 9 TB of SSD storage (yes, you read that right!) and 64 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz RAM. Otherwise, we can enjoy a QHD 165 Hz or Full HD 480 Hz screen for ultra-smooth competitive multiplayer, even if we don’t really know who such a refresh will benefit. Obviously, the cooling system has been overhauled from top to bottom to support the arrival of these energy-intensive components, and some design elements have been modified.

RGB touchpads for more FPS (no)

Dell will also release a similar m16 model, in 16-inch format as its name suggests, as well as two much thinner models, the x14 and x16. If we knew the x14 that disappointed us this year, its replacement should correct some of its flaws with an improved cooling system and higher performance, driven by a 13th generation Core i5 or Core i7 and an RTX 4050 or 4060 It remains to be seen whether the PC will be able to convince us this time during a possible future test.

The all-new x16 follows the formula of the x14, in 16-inch format this time with a 16:10 screen, a higher thermal envelope and a maximum RTX 4070. Count 2.7 kg all the same for this model, so light, but not too much. Perhaps the most important element, its numeric keypad is RGB, and we can thus control the colors and effects in the Alienware Command Center software.

More affordable G models

On the G15 and G16 side, computers gaming more affordable, Dell seems to have simply refreshed them with Intel processors and next-generation graphics cards. While both models can fit 13th Gen Intel Core i5 to i9 processors and RTX 4050, 4060 or 4070, the G15 is a bit more limited.
It is satisfied, for example, with a Full HD screen in 16:9, 120 or 165 Hz format, when the G16 offers a QHD + 165 or 240 Hz panel in 16:10 format.
