When it comes to communicating, NVIDIA rarely goes with the back of the spoon, a question of ramage and plumage perhaps?

For this CES 2023, NVIDIA was mainly expected on two fronts: on the one hand the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti and on the other, the RTX 4000 for laptops. The first is done, so the second remains…

An RTX 4090 in the (trans)portable?

We won’t come back to the Ada Lovelace architecture, we did that during our report on the release of dedicated graphics cards. What was not certain, however, is that NVIDIA decided to adapt the most powerful of its GPUs to the portable world.

Indeed, at CES, the American company clarified that “ the new line of laptop GPUs includes the GeForce RTX 4080, 4070, 4060 and 4050, and for the first time in laptops, an RTX 4090 GPU is also available “.

The question will be to know how the GPU is integrated and to verify that it is not a castrated version or synonymous with delirious overheating. NVIDIA seeks to reassure and speaks of computers ” up to three times more energy efficient than the previous generation “.

Be aware, however, that a laptop based on the GeForce RTX 4090 will necessarily not be cheap: NVIDIA says that the machines ” RTX 40 series flagships powered by GeForce RTX 4080 and 4090 GPUs start at 2,599 euros and will be available from February 8 “.

Fortunately, it will be possible to taste the joys of the RTX 4000 without having to shed a kidney. NVIDIA talks about DLSS 3, Max-Q technologies “ fifth generation “and performance” up to four times better in AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077 “, but not only.

Alongside the RTX 4080 and 4090, there is also talk of more modest models such as the RTX 4070, 4060 and 4050. These GPUs are presented as “ faster than the previous generation flagship » and, better, equipped laptops will be more accessible.

For the time being, only the ASUS ZenBook Pro 14 has been mentioned by NVIDIA, which however indicates a price ” from €1,199 ” (probably for an RTX 4050) and an availability “ from February 22 “.
