CES 2023 – Swift Go, Acer’s new Oled laptop

Acer did not just present PCs gaming at CES, a newcomer to the Swift range will see the light of day in 2023. The Swift Go is thus added to the series with features that may interest more than one.

Available in 14 and 16 inches, it looks a lot like the Swift Edge that we tested and it features an Oled panel in 16:10 format with an advertised brightness of 500 nits. The 16-inch version has a 3200 x 2000 definition refreshed at 120 Hz, but the 14-inch version is limited to 2880 x 1800 px and 90 Hz. The occupancy rate is also announced at 90%, which promises a pleasant screen visually.

On the component side, we can count on an Intel 13th gen H-series processor which should offer interesting performance with up to 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and 2 TB of SSD. The chassis remains rather thin (14.9 mm thick), but the weight remains within the norm (1.3 kg for the 14 inch and 1.6 kg for the 16 inch). The Swift Go is therefore still heavier than the ultra-light LG Gram and Samsung Galaxy Book2 PCs, for example.

Connectivity is not to be outdone with HDMI 2.1 and USB-C Thunderbolt 4, 6E wifi and a 1440p webcam. In short, the Swift Go seems to tick all the boxes on paper, but only our tests will be able to confirm this.

The two PCs are expected for the 2nd quarter of 2023 at a rather affordable starting price given the configuration: €1,000 for the 14-inch model and €1,100 for the 16-inch; but beware, this price will certainly be that of the LCD panels, and the Oled may well cost a few hundred euros more.
