It is not always possible to provide support for Matter to existing connected objects. For this reason, the SwitchBot brand has chosen to offer a new Hub compatible with the new standard for the connected home, which will make it possible to make the link between its existing connected objects and the third-party applications of the ecosystems which manage the connected home.

To communicate with the brand’s existing devices, the SwitchBot Hub 2 is Bluetooth compatible, while a wifi connection will allow you to take advantage of it with Matter. Thanks to this, we can notably manage these devices with Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home or Samsung SmartThings systems.

The first device to benefit from this will be the SwitchBot Curtain, which allows control of the opening and closing of curtains, from the end of February or the beginning of March. The other products will be updated gradually during the year 2023.

In addition to this ability to relay, the new Matter-compatible SwitchBot Hub 2 has an LED screen that adapts to ambient light to display the temperature and humidity level of the room in which it is placed. Two keys offer the ability to trigger scenarios and control SwitchBot devices, and the infrared control function – to copy the operation of remote controls – has been improved compared to the first Hub mini.
