At CES 2024, Intel and NVIDIA have already planned to hold a conference. AMD couldn’t let its two “best enemies” pull the rug out from under them.
For several weeks now, we have known that NVIDIA will take advantage of CES in Las Vegas to hold a press conference. We also learned that the said conference will be an opportunity to present new products.
Of course, it will be the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series, but it remains possible that NVIDIA has some surprises in store for us as AMD has just confirmed the holding of a conference in which Lisa Su, CEO of the group, will participate.
Lisa Su will take the stage to talk about AI
Published most officially by AMD, the information is rather laconic. A message of a few lines on the group’s official website, a date, a time… and that’s about it.
Lisa Su will not be alone on stage and to host this conference, she will be able to count on the support of Jack Huynh – Senior Vice President and GM of computing and graphics – while the conference is placed under the sign of artificial intelligence with a title that is equivocal to say the least: “ together we advance AI “.
All this, however, remains very vague to the extent that AMD’s explanations hardly give any substance to grind: “ AMD powers all the infrastructure that will define the AI era, from cloud installations to enterprise clusters, intelligent embedded devices and PCs “.
Only one graphics card announced?
Remember that the latest news is that AMD is due to launch a new graphics card, the Radeon RX 7600 XT, at the end of January. We do not imagine that such a map could be the heart of this conference, but it will undoubtedly be revealed on this occasion.
We should also point out that Monday January 8 will be a very lively prelude to CES 2024. AMD has just arranged to meet us at 4 p.m. Paris time for its conference. An hour later, it’s NVIDIA’s turn to speak.
Much later in the night – at 2 a.m. on January 9 – it is Intel who, through Pat Gelsinger, its CEO, will discuss at least the second part of its Raptor Lake Refresh range (65 W). A nice group shot!
