(CercleFinance.com) – CGG announces that its subsidiary Sercel has finalized the acquisition of the software business of ION Geophysical Corporation, which allows it to complete its range of services and software, but also to diversify into operations simultaneously at sea.
The acquisition includes the navigation systems dedicated to the acquisition of Orca (from streamers) and Gator (seabed) data, as well as the optimization tools for Mesa seismic teams and the management software for simultaneous maritime operations Marlin.
As a reminder, Sercel was awarded this activity at the beginning of July. It will operate this new set of technologies as a business unit and the product portfolio will be maintained as is.
