Will T’Challa appear again on the MCU despite Chadwick Boseman’s death? No, said a Marvel spokesman now.

Now it’s clear: Marvel will never cast the role of T’Challa again after the cancer death of actor Chadwick Boseman (1976-2020). Confirmed Marvel’s Vice President for Development, Nate Moore, on The-Ringer-Verse Podcast. “I’m being completely honest: we couldn’t do that,” says Moore. That’s why you won’t see the cult Wakanda king again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After Boseman’s death, they only had a conversation about how to deal with the situation. After a few minutes you knew that the franchise would have to do without the character, Moore continued. It was difficult to plan the film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” without Boseman, but at no point a replacement was considered.

“Black Panther” sequel hits theaters in 2022

In the “Black Panther” sequel, which has been filmed since the beginning of the year and should come to the cinemas in autumn 2022, the makers decided on Letitia Wright (28) for a female actress to play the leading role. Still, rumors have spread that Marvel is planning another sequel, but with a replacement for Boseman’s role.

Chadwick Boseman passed away in August 2020 after years of battling colon cancer at the age of just 43. In 2016 he slipped into his star role as the superhero Black Panther for the first time in “The First Avenger: Civil War”. This was followed by the solo film “Black Panther” in 2018 and the two Avengers films “Infinity War” (2018) and “Endgame” (2019).
