Third parties discovered smoke in the roof of a chalet shortly after 5 p.m., the Valais canton police announced on Tuesday. 25 firefighters were on duty to put out the fire.
People were not injured, but the damage to property was considerable. According to the Valais canton police, an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
In the past few days there have been several fires in the canton of Valais. On Monday a week ago there was a fire on the roof of the Sierre hospital, but nobody was injured. Last Tuesday, a chalet in Vex was completely destroyed by fire. No people were injured there either.
