After two good first matches against the big names in its group, Lens must now beat its seemingly weakest opponent, PSV Eindhoven, on Tuesday evening, at home, to get a glimpse of the round of 16 of the Champions League. A well-known paradox of high-level sport, Lens knows how to excel against the greats of Europe.

Silencing your detractors. This is an art in which Lens is a master. Promised by the specialists for a difficult group stage, the Sang et Or are at the top of their group B, ahead of Seville, where the Lensois went to get a point (1-1), and ahead of Arsenal, beaten before the truce at Bollaert (2-1).

“We have to be ambitious and we will be”

Results which can turn some heads and that is why defender Jonathan Gradit wanted to clarify things, when it comes time to face Eindhoven, this Tuesday, October 24, at home. “A team like PSV, if we think that it’s going to happen on its own and that we’re going to win at home easily again, we’re going straight into the wall. We’re going to have to put out a big match, that we play with personality, we will have to go and get them,” declared the defender of the Lensois club.

An opinion shared by coach Franck Haise, who wants to see his team with intentions and not spare their efforts. “What is certain is that if we don’t put in this content, we can’t dream of much. On the other hand, if we put in a lot of things, as we did for Seville and Arsenal, of course we have to be ambitious and we are going to be,” reported the coach of the Lens team. An ambition shared by the many supporters of the club, who will once again shake a Stade Bollaert-Delélis, full for the reception of PSV.
