BRIEF // Canal+ has pulled off a very nice coup by recovering all of the Champions League, Europa League, Europa League Conference and Youth League matches for the 2024-2027 period. The encrypted channel could share its lots.
Despite its defeat in the field of Ligue 1 rights against Amazon, Canal + is very far from having abandoned the round ball. The encrypted channel has just proved it by taking over not one, two, or three, but the four high-level European competitions: Champions League, Europa League, Europa League Conference and Youth League. The rights are guaranteed from 2024 and until 2027, for the sum of 480 million euros per season, according to The Team. Only M6 has managed to recover a small crumb, the broadcast of the Champions League final in clear, for 4 million per year.
Very very happy for our subscribers and our teams and very proud to announce that @canalplus just won the broadcast of the entire @ChampionsLeague of the’ @EuropaLeague and some @UEFAConference_ for 2024-2027. #historical#thebestisyettocomepic.twitter.com/NGAQgTiLcB

Remember that from 2024, the C1 will adopt a new format with 36 clubs. The encrypted channel will therefore be able to broadcast 550 European matches each year. It is also possible for it to sub-license certain lots, for example to its partner BeIN Sports. Next step for Canal+, the reconquest of French football? Answer next year.
