Chantal Ladesou and the tragic death of her son at 21: a pain still present, 25 years after the tragedy

This Saturday, September 10, France 2 is broadcasting the second issue of big show with conductor Jarry accompanied by two guests: Pascal Obispo and Chantal Ladesou .

Chantal Ladesou is one of the favorite comedians of the French thanks in particular to her humor and her joie de vivre. But behind the smile hides a pain linked to the loss of a loved one: the death of his eldest son Alix at the age of 21 in 1996. The young man had suffered a car accident. A memory that will forever haunt Chantal Ladesou, also mother of Clémence and Julien Ansault, companion of Pauline Lefèvre with whom he had two children: Hugues and Léopoldine born in October 2020.

In her interviews, Chantal Ladesou returned to the death of her son Alix with emotion. This was the case in February 2020 when she confided in Jordan De Luxe on Non Stop People: “Often people throw me on it but it’s a drama that is always very burning in me. So it’s always something that is in me and that makes me suffer as soon as we talk about it, and at the same time , it’s also a way to bring it back to life and maybe help. Also, talking about it, maybe it can help people who happened to it too. It’s true that it’s always very sensitive.”

I still see myself crying in my dressing room

More recently, last June, the 74-year-old actress and comedian confided in Nikos Aliagas in 50 Minutes Inside. She told how she was able to bounce back professionally after the death of her son: “I had prepared a play before I lost it. I can still see myself crying in my dressing room. My comrades forced me to come back on stage, and when I got on stage, I played differently. I did something else but it helped me terribly.”

If Chantal Ladesou is still bruised by the death of her son, she can count on the happiness brought to her by her siblings made up of five grandchildren. “I’m a pretty classic grandmother, kind of a sweet granny. I like to make my grandchildren laugh”she confessed in 50 Minutes Inside in June.
