In public, King Charles III and Camilla Parker Bowles look the part. No later than this Monday, January 29, the couple appeared very united when leaving the London Clinic, where King Charles was operated on, just like Kate Middleton, and from which he left at the beginning of the week. As a reminder, a few days ago, press releases revealed that the Princess of Wales and the Sovereign were going to undergo surgical operations: one in the abdomen for Kate Middleton, the other to treat an enlarged prostate on Charles’ side.

The king and his daughter-in-law are doing wonderfully, according to the latest news communicated by the royal family. It was with a smile on his face that Camilla Parker Bowles’ husband left the medical establishment after several days spent at the clinic. Now back home, King Charles III will be able to take advantage ofa month of rest since after the intervention, the 75-year-old monarch must remain quiet for at least a month and will not resume royal obligations and travel before the end of February. This will give Camilla and Charles plenty of time to mess up their buns.

Annabel Elliot, younger sister of Queen Camilla, opened up about the habits and behind the scenes of the royal couple’s daily life in the book by royal expert Robert Hardman, Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story. In these pages which retrace Charles’ journey up to his coronation and his first steps as king and which Hello Magazine invites us to discover some extracts, we learn in particular that he and Camilla argue for anything and everything, like any couple.

A little war between Charles and Camilla

King Charles would have an unfortunate tendency to cool the atmosphere. Literally. The sovereign has a habit of constantly opening the windows of the rooms of Clarence House, where he has taken up residence with his wife. A detail that has the gift of annoying his other half. The Queen Consort’s sister also mentions a little war on this subject between the two lovers: “He opens the window. She slips in behind and closes. So there’s a lot of ‘Oh honey, will you close the window? Yes, I do because we’re all frozen.’ There are a lot of jokes.”

If Charles III has already demonstrated a strong character in front of the cameras (we remember in particular the leaked pen a few months ago), Annabel Elliot confides that Camilla is not to be outdone. Contrary to appearances, the Queen Consort also knows how to assert herself: “If the king usually wins on windows and ventilation, Queen Camilla wins on most other things” says Robert Hardman. So you can be king and not be right about everything.
