Upon their arrival, the royal couple will be received at Versailles for a summit dinner. On this occasion, the Élysée Palace is pulling out all the stops. Emmanuel Macron has concocted a tailor-made surprise for the British sovereign and his wife. Indeed, the head of state called on three very renowned chefs to prepare dinner at the castle of Louis XIV: Yannick Alléno, Anne-Sophie Pic and Pierre Hermé. The first is chef at Pavillon Ledoyen, the second at La Dame de Pic and the third Parisian pastry chef. And the menu is (almost) already concocted.
A tailor-made menu for the royal couple
What will the royal menu be? A dinner around a service “French-style”reports Paris Match. And it was Anne-Sophie Pic who was in charge of the entrance, which has not yet been arrested. Only clue: it’s an appetizer “100% plant-based”. Yannick Alléno has imagined a marinated poached Bresse poultry with roasted corn extraction and accompanied by a porcini mushroom gratin – a direct nod to King Charles III and his wife “who love mushrooms”, explains Yannick Alléno. For dessert, Pierre Hermé will reinvent one of his famous recipes, an Ispahan, a macaron made from rose, lychee and raspberry, with a compote of cooked and raw raspberries, a lychee rose sorbet and a raspberry sorbet. Not forgetting a cheese platter, selected by master cheesemaker Bernard Antony: a Comté Grande Garde, a Pélardon, as well as a Stichelton, a 100% English blue cheese. “When we informed Buckingham, they were both surprised and touched by this attention”confided the master cheesemaker. After Versailles, King Charles III will go to Paris, to the Senate, and will attend a Rugby World Cup match.
