Buckingham is recruiting! Being king is not an easy task and Charles III knows it well. The British sovereign surrounds himself with faithful companions to carry out his role.
According to our colleagues at Daily Mailthe father of princes William and Harry would like to expand his team. You will have understood, the king is recruiting! “King Charles is hiring a telephone operator with a salary of £26,000 a year who will be responsible for answering 4,000 calls a week” can we read in the columns of our colleagues. Converted into our currency, this salary corresponds to around 2,500 euros per month. According to the tabloid, the position will be based at Buckingham Palace in London and will require 38 hours of work per week. Some may not know this, but the same position was offered during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II in 2016. At that time the salary was lower, 23,000 pounds sterling (around 2,200 euros per month), while the number of calls to be covered corresponded to double what Charles III requested (7,000 per week). Candidates for the position must have experience in a switchboard or at reception. They will also need basic computer skills and must be “trusted communicators”.

While his father searches for the rare pearl, on the other side of the Atlantic, Prince Harry expanded his team a few days ago. After the resignation of two senior Invictus Games executives, CEO Peter Lawless and CCO Bill Cooper in the fall of 2023, the Duke of Sussex wanted to reinvigorate his games by hiring a new employee. But his identity should not please Prince William. This would be Nick Booth, who served the eldest son of Charles III for years and his wife Kate Middleton. A source, whose identity was not revealed, told the Daily Mail that : “Nick Booth is one of the Duke of Sussex’s right-hand men. He was instrumental in creating the Invictus Games with Harry and was invited to consolidate the 2025 games”. A new collaboration which may not please Prince William.
