LONDON, Sept 9 (Reuters) – Charles III will be officially proclaimed King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Saturday morning in a ceremony at St. James’s Palace in London, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday.
This ceremony which will begin at 09:00 GMT will take place in two parts. The first is intended to proclaim the new sovereign and the second will see Charles sign the oath to guarantee the safety of the Church in Scotland.
Following this ceremony will take place an hour later the Main Proclamation from the balcony overlooking the Friary Court of St. James’s Palace.
The day after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, the new King Charles III is due to address the British for the first time this Friday around 5:00 p.m. GMT. (Report Michael Holden, French version Bertrand Boucey, edited by Sophie Louet)
