Charlie Colin has died at the age of 58. The founding member of the band Train apparently died after a tragic accident.

Mourning for bassist Charlie Colin. The former member of the US band Train died unexpectedly at the age of only 58. His death was confirmed by his mother the US celebrity portal “TMZ”.

She is said to have explained to “TMZ” that her son slipped and fell in the shower while he was looking after a friend’s house in Brussels. The musician was only found by his friends a few days later. It is unclear when exactly he fell. According to “TMZ”, Colin had moved to Brussels, where he taught music. He is also said to have recently worked in a studio and completed the music for a film.

Exit in 2003

The San Francisco band Train was founded in the early 1990s by Pat Monahan (55) and Rob Hotchkiss (64) and was completed by Jimmy Stafford (60, guitar), Charlie Colin (bass) and later Scott Underwood (drums). According to Variety Colin worked on the first three albums, the eponymous debut album from 1999, “Drops of Jupiter” (2001) and “My Private Nation” (2003).

One of the group’s most successful songs is “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” from 2001, which won “Best Rock Song” at the Grammys, among other awards. Colin left the band in 2003. He then played in other bands, including the Painbirds group, which he founded with Hotchkiss in 2015. Colin grew up in Newport Beach, California and studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
