On August 27, Arte is showing a Rolling Stones concert from 2015 as a tribute to the late Charlie Watts.

Charlie Watts (1941-2021), longtime drummer for the Rolling Stones, died in London on August 24th at the age of 80. As a tribute to the musician, Arte will change the program on Friday and show a concert by the band. Before that there is a documentary about the Stones.

“Crossfire Hurricane” and “Live at the Fonda Theater”

“The Rolling Stones: Crossfire Hurricane” will be broadcast from 9:45 pm, as the broadcaster announced. The documentary by Brett Morgen (52), which illuminates the band’s history, was created as part of the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones.

From 11:35 pm “The Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers – Live at the Fonda Theater” can be seen. Mick Jagger (78) and his colleagues gave the appearance on the occasion of the re-release of the album “Sticky Fingers”.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts”, a spokesman for the drummer said in a statement on Tuesday. The musician fell asleep peacefully in a London hospital, surrounded by his family. And further: “Charlie was a valued husband, father and grandfather and as a member of the Rolling Stones also one of the greatest drummers of his generation.”
