Charmed and Beverly Hills star in coma after meningitis

Fans of the series Beverly Hills 90210, Charmed or Insecure know his face. American actress and director Denise Dowse is currently in critical condition. Her sister, Tracey Dowse, announced Sunday, August 7, on the actress’s Instagram account, that the latter has developed a “virulent form of meningitis”which plunged her into a coma.

“I ask for your support and prayers for me and my sister, my only close family. She is currently hospitalized, in a coma caused by a virulent form of meningitis”wrote Tracey Dowse on her sister’s account, before adding that “the doctors do not know when she will come out of the coma because it has not not been medically induced“.

Denise Dowse is best known for having played, from 1991 to 2000, the role of vice-principal of West Beverly Hills High School in the American series Beverly Hills 90210, alongside the actors Shannen Doherty, Luke Perry and Tory Spelling. From 2017 to 2020, she camped the character of Dr. Rhonda Pine in the series Insecure, created by Issa Rae. The 64-year-old American has also made notable appearances in the playoffs Charmed, Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, Gilmore Girls or Dr House. She also made a career in the cinema with roles landed in films like Requiem for a Dream and Doctor Dolittle 2.

Ian Zeringthe interpreter of Steve Sanders in Beverly Hills 90210, wanted to give all his support to his former colleague in the series. “I send my prayers and hope for better days to come”he wrote in a comment under the publication.
