A 27-year-old beat, strangled and injured his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend in her apartment in Vienna-Döbling on Wednesday afternoon. According to police spokesman Christopher Verhnjak, the woman, who is five weeks pregnant, received emergency medical care and was taken to a hospital. The suspect, a Russian citizen from Chechnya, who has been banned from entering the country, also attacked police officers and set out to chase the officers on foot.
