Châteaudun: hammer blows, sexual violence… sordid settling of accounts in love


In Eure-et-Loir, a couple aged 25 and 30 is suspected of the murder of a 49-year-old man whose body was found buried. A settling of accounts in love would be at the origin of this sordid affair.

A murder based on adultery. In Eure-et-Loire, a couple aged 25 and 30 were charged and imprisoned this Thursday, January 19, announced the parquet floor of Chartres. They are suspected of killing a 49-year-old man whose body was found buried in the countryside near Châteaudun. “The man and his concubine were brought on Thursday, January 19, 2023 and indicted for murder, arrest, kidnapping, detention and forcible confinement with release after the seventh day (…) and willful damage by fire”said Frédéric Chevallier, the public prosecutor in Chartres.

Since the end of December, the victim had given no more signs of life to those around him. But thanks to several testimonies, the investigators were quickly able to orient themselves on the trail of a disappearance that had occurred.in a context of death threatsconflicts, violence and love rivalries between the missing man and another (…) residing in Châteaudun”. Indeed, as the prosecutor pointed out, the young man’s companion had maintained “of the intimate relationships with the missing man. However, she assured the authorities that she had been forcibly retained by the victim on December 24 and 25, 2022 in his apartment located in Chartres. During this sequestration, he allegedly subjected to physical and sexual violence.

The victim killed with a hammer

After learning of the facts, the young man would have gone to his partner’s apartment on December 30, and a “violent confrontation” would have taken place with the victim, during which he would have given shots hammer in the head of the last. While in police custody, the 30-year-old admitted to having killed the missing man, and also admitted to having used his credit card to buy a spade which allowed him to bury the body in Lutz-en-Dunois. After finding the victim’s charred vehicle near Châteaudun on January 5, the gendarmes discovered that the suspect’s phone and car were present in the same place two days earlier thanks to the exploitation of telephones and images of video surveillance.
