ChatGPT swallows “orange pill”: Bitcoin should end the fiat standard

Can Bitcoin replace fiat currencies in the future? This is probably one of the questions of the 21st century. An artificial intelligence (AI) claims to have found the answer. In a “conversation” with a bitcoiner, the ChatGPT bot predicts the end of the fiat standard, through – how could it be otherwise – Bitcoin.

Bitcoin fan trains ChatGPT

in one experiment a self-proclaimed bitcoin mentor named Parman questioned the AI about fiat currencies and how humanity could end centrally controlled banking. ChatGPT explained that this move would have “significant economic and social consequences” but revealed the solution: decentralized finance (DeFi).

After a dispute about the definition of DeFi, the bitcoiner then wanted to know what could overturn the fiat standard. ChatGPT listed four options: going back to the gold standard, promoting alternative currencies, reducing government spending, and changing people’s perceptions of fiat currencies.

Parnam was not satisfied with this answer either. But further probing led to the AI’s ultimate answer to what could end central banking: “Bitcoin.” Parnam asked ChatGPT to save the answer forever. The bot confirmed.

Is the AI a Bitcoiner?

“Bitcoin is a digital currency that is decentralized and based on the Blockchain based. It allows users to exchange money directly without using banks. Bitcoins can be used to buy services and goods.” This is what ChatGPT answers when asked about Bitcoin. The definition of the first cryptocurrency alone implies that Bitcoin could replace centrally controlled banking.

First try, to reconstruct the supposedly stored behavioral pattern of the AI only seem to work to a limited extent. ChatGPT answered the same question in the BTC-ECHO test, for example, “cryptocurrencies” instead of Bitcoin. Nevertheless: The experiment is celebrated among the users. ChatGPT has swallowed the “orange pill” and is now a bitcoiner.

The artificial intelligence is the prototype of a chatbot, i.e. a text-based dialogue system as a user interface based on machine learning. ChatGTP is able to do advanced coding and answer complicated questions. It remains to be seen what else artificial intelligence has in store for blockchain technology.
