A year after the launch of ChatGPT and the global success we are experiencing, OpenAI organized a small conference in order to formalize major developments. During the Developer Day event, the company made two major announcements: a new, more efficient and updated model, GPT-4 Turbo, as well as tools to create your personalized ChatGPT, GPT Builder, and to share it, GPT Store.
Make way for GPT-4 Turbo, GPT Builder and GPT Store
OpenAI intends to remain the leader in its field, particularly against Google Bard and Grok from xAI, Elon Musk’s start-up. The evolution of ChatGPT therefore requires constant work, which involves optimizations and the implementation of additional features.
After allowing file analysis and modification, artificial intelligence is undergoing significant changes, starting with GPT-4 Turbo. Succeeding GPT-4, this new version of the OpenAI language model brings several interesting improvements.
First, ChatGPT’s knowledge base has been updated, now running through April 2023, up from September 2021. We then learn that GPT-4 Turbo supports queries of 128,000 characters, the equivalent of 300 pages of text. The opportunity for Internet users to formulate much more complex requests.
The artificial intelligence also has a simplified interface, automatically selecting the best option based on the content of the prompt, and gains speed. GPT-4 Turbo is currently available to developers (paid subscription) via version gpt-4-1106-preview. Note, ChatGPT-3.5 is also entitled to a Turbo version, which boosts its efficiency and increases the number of signs to 16,000.
The second announcement is GPT Builder. To put it simply, Internet users will be able to create their own versions of ChatGPT, called “GPTs”. Objective: to create personalized and specialized AI in certain areas or specific tasks.
To share them, OpenAI has everything planned: the GPT Store. Instead of presenting itself as an application store, like the Play Store or the App Store, it is a section bringing together all the GPTs. The firm is also working on a remuneration system for creators.
GPT Builder and the GPT Store are now available to ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Enterprise subscribers.
