Potentially game-changing AI Copilot for Microsoft 365 users unfolds in Word. And it seems that we are still far from its full potential.
Announced as ” the most powerful productivity tool on the planet by Microsoft, the artificial intelligence “Copilot”, a real luxury assistant for work, will gradually land on the various Windows 365 tools. Our colleagues from Windows Latest were able to take control of the AI on the in-house word processing software, Microsoft Word.
The Copilot assistant still a bit short on Word, but promising
On Microsoft Word, you will no longer suffer from the white page syndrome. On paper, Copilot is supposed to help us write, rewrite, or suggest content from a query to the AI in a few words, or from a document you submit to it.
But that’s not all, the AI can also find the right image to accompany the text, generate a summary from a document, offer a summary and titles, write a poem or a report, among others.
A first version of Microsoft 365 Copilot is currently being tested by a few lucky people, who have been able to judge the qualities and shortcomings of artificial intelligence. At the moment, it would seem that the AI is limited to only two of its functionalities.
Only two features available for early testers
The first, “Start a document”, which could be translated as ” Begin or start a document », is by definition used to create, in a few seconds, the first frame of a Word document. The second, “Just write about it”, performs more or less the same task as the first, by generating lines of text or modifying the one you have just obtained.
According to our American colleagues, the AI, on Word, doesn’t always work and throws an error message that it can’t understand the request “. This same message also occurs when the user selects an action directly suggested by the artificial intelligence.
What promises to be great with Copilot is that you can switch between Office 365 applications to maximize your time. For example, you can generate a PowerPoint presentation using AI, from a Word document that has itself been written by Copilot, by asking it, for example, to produce slides that summarize the Word document. What almost replace us completely! If Copilot is only in its infancy, we can’t wait to see what it has in store for us in the coming weeks.
