Pop icon Cher (77) has advice for all women in the world: “Go out with a younger man.” Every woman should have this experience at least once in her life. the singer said in an episode of the YouTube show “Chicken Shop Date” released Friday. The Grammy winner herself has only had positive experiences with younger partners, but older men “just don’t like her” either.
Cher is currently in a relationship with music manager Alexander Edwards (37), who is around 40 years her junior. In doing so, she broke her own rules, reports Cher. For a long time she had the feeling that she shouldn’t be with younger men. That’s also why she didn’t fall in love with Edwards “quickly at all.” Although she initially resisted it, the feelings arose because of her many chats.

“I was in Switzerland and he wrote to me: ‘Where are you going?’ “I said, ‘I’m going to Switzerland. I’m a little tired,’ and then he texted me, ‘Well, take a rest, babyyy,’ with three Ypsilons,” Cher says of the introduction. At that moment she thought that he didn’t actually know her well enough to communicate with her like that: “I was pretty angry.” Even afterwards, she resisted love and told her friends: “Don’t fall in love with a younger man, we’re too old. And don’t fall in love via text message.”
The singer and the music manager met at Paris Fashion Week in 2022 after an acquaintance gave her number to Edwards. After a few months of secret relationship, they made their love public in autumn 2022. After an alleged separation in May 2023, the two appeared in public together again from September.
