Following his departure in the fifth episode of season 10, Jesse Spencer (Matt Casey) will return to Chicago Fire for the season finale. An emblematic character of the series since the pilot, the firefighter had left Chicago to take care of the children of Andy Darden, his best friend who died.

Jesse Spencer explained last year that he felt the need to get away from the small screen to take time for himself and his family. Between his role in Dr. House and that in Chicago Fire, the actor has spent the last 18 years on the air.

To bring him back for an episode, series co-showrunner Derek Haas was ready for anything: “But he’s the best and he was there before we even started begging him” he told TV Line.

On the occasion of the finale of season 10 of Chicago Fire broadcast on May 25 on NBC, Matt Casey will keep his promise to Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and will be his wedding witness. The ex-firefighter of barracks 51 will also return when his relationship with his partner Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) is critical. Will the couple separate for good?

The return of Jesse Spencer for an episode may close the intrigues still linked to his character. What will happen during the wedding? Will he put an end to his relationship with Sylvie? Does this short return sign his real departure from the series?

While TF1 recently started broadcasting the first season of Chicago Fire on Wednesday evenings, season 10 will be available soon on 13ème Rue.

The first seven seasons of the series are available on the Prime Video platform.
