The hens flutter to Netflix: A sequel to the animation fun "Chicken Run" should be produced next year.
Exactly 20 years after the kneading chickens from "Chicken Run" planned their escape to freedom, a continuation of the animated film has now been announced. Netflix UK & Ireland announced via Twitter: "We can confirm that a 'Chicken Run' sequel will come to Netflix. Produced by Aardman Animations, work should start next year."
To date, "Chicken Run" is the most successful stop motion film ever. The family film was able to record 224 million US dollars worldwide, in the English original Mel Gibson (64) speaks the self-loving rooster in the basket called Rooster – in German by Ingolf Lück (62). Director Nick Park (61) is especially famous for his modeling clay duo "Wallace & Gromit", with whom he was even able to win two Oscars. And "Shaun the Sheep" is also his creation.
