Child film star, he now fights for the protection of the environment

With his role in the friendly comedy “Denis la Malice”, he was one of the many child stars of the 90s. But what happened to the American Mason Gamble?

In 1993, the young Mason Gamble revealed himself to the general public with Denis la Malice, a family comedy in the vein of Maman, I missed the plane. A very nice film in which he plays the famous Denis, a little boy full of energy and mischief determined to make life hell for his misanthropic and grumpy neighbor. But what happened to Mason Gamble after being part of the circle of child stars of the 90s?

After starring in Denis la Malice at the age of seven, Mason Gamble disappeared from the radar and we had to wait until 1996 to hear about him again. We then see him shine in an episode of the series Urgences and appear in the credits of the police comedy Agent zero zero, played by the priceless Leslie Nielsen.

But it was in 1997 that Mason Gamble really returned to the spotlight by playing young Vincent Freeman in the SF classic Welcome to Gattaca (adult Vincent being played by Ethan Hawke). The following year, a new role that counts for the American with a presence in the credits of Wes Anderson’s Rushmore.

Mason Gamble in the movie “Rushmore”:

After playing Tim Robbins’ son in Arlington Road, Mason Gamble is one of the stars of Kate Brasher, a series broadcast on CBS in 2001. From then on, the man who is now a teenager is less and less present on the screen . We just noted appearances in episodes of Close to Home and CSI: Miami. His very last role dates from 2010: it was in Golf in the Kingdom, a film in which he stars but which unfortunately goes completely unnoticed.

After that ? After retiring from the sets, Mason Gamble studied dentistry and then marine biology. In 2020, the American, now 37 years old, was in the second year of his doctorate in environmental science and engineering.
