Children always just want to watch TV? Mother reveals a brilliant trick

Children and the TV – a special relationship. Because once the little ones have discovered the square device, on which colorful pictures appear and foreign voices sound, it has happened: The television set seems to have an almost magical attraction for children. And in addition to the sandman, one or two quarrels move into the daily program.

Children always just want to watch TV?

Because according to the WHO, children up to three years of age are best not to spend one hour a day in front of the TV. Well, different rules apply during Corona times – nevertheless everyday life will return at some point. Then some children suddenly become debating and Quengel world champions when it comes to television. This was the experience of a mother reporting on her suffering on Reddit: "I couldn't stand my two-and-a-half-year-old asking for television all day, not just first thing in the morning."

So the mother considered how to end the quarreling. She tried a trick that could hardly be simpler – and the effect of which surprised her: she simply hid the television.

Simple trick: hide the TV

She didn't even take the TV to another room: "I hid it behind curtains to keep it out of sight and memory," the mother reveals on Reddit. And lo and behold: suddenly her son just seemed to forget the television!

Even in the evening, when the mother carefully pulled the TV out of its hiding place to watch TV, the son man remained completely uninterested! "Even when we were watching TV, he kept playing without staring at the screen", the woman writes enthusiastically.

Well, if that's that easy! On Reddit, other families are more than grateful for the simple trick – and immediately apply it. This is how we learn that not only curtains but also sheets serve their purpose (and the problem of TV addiction does not only appear to exist among children, but also among spouses …). Sometimes the most obvious solution can be the best. And in this case, the saying "out of sight, out of mind" turned out to be a magic formula against whining children in front of the television.
