children and teenagers soon affected by the health pass?

While the government has announced the creation of a health pass, questions are focused on children and adolescents. Will they be affected when they are not eligible for vaccination?

This is one of the new major stages of this deconfinement plan: the health pass. Last week, Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of this new device, set up in order to access “to places that stir up crowds” from June. The presentation of this digital or paper document will therefore be necessary as soon as certain public places reopen on June 9, to certify his vaccination or a recent negative test result for Covid-19.

This health pass will be used in particular to go to stadiums, trade fairs, museums, concerts or even fairs. This “sesame towards freedom” which will make it possible to avoid the appearance of “cluster or supercluster” in these places of regrouping, nevertheless raises several questions. What will happen to children and adolescents? Their vaccination is not currently considered by the Minister of Health, Olivier VĂ©ran.

The extension of the pass recommended by the Scientific Council

The European health pass will be required to travel abroad between mid and end of June. This will concern children and will contain three main elements, namely “Whether you are vaccinated or not, whether you are immune or not, and the state of your situation in relation to a test”, as detailed by the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, on BFMTV.

The French health pass, meanwhile, should be extended to children, according to an opinion of the Scientific Council, made public Thursday, May 6. Experts point out that “the vast majority of minors will not be vaccinated before the fall”. The extension of the pass is therefore all the more important. Without being able to present a vaccination certificate, the children’s health pass should therefore only be based on “on a negative virological test of less than 48 hours and will be under parental responsibility”, always according to the opinion of the Scientific Council. Thanks to the TousAntiCovid mobile application, parents will be able to “to save the certificates of several people, thus allowing any person to store the certificates of their children or of persons for whom they are responsible”.

A reflection is currently being carried out within the government, which should soon decide on the continuation of the events. In the meantime, Emmanuel Macron announced Thursday, May 6, the opening of the vaccine to minors of 16 and 17 years old with certain serious diseases.
