The perfect day by the sea means rest for some, partying for others and doing yoga for others or simply meeting up with friends in a stylish atmosphere. Or to put it in two words: Beach Club. There are dozens of beach clubs on the favorite island of Germans. They are all not cheap and should be reserved online. But they guarantee unforgettable beach days with casual luxury. We present six locations around the island.

1. Mhares Sea Club: Elegant paradise for adults

Let’s start towards the south of the island, around 20 kilometers outside the capital, Palma de Mallorca. There, the Mhares Sea Club at Puig de Ros hides above a former mine, from which stones were broken 1000 years ago for the construction of Palma’s cathedral. A smaller beach club nestled discreetly into the cliffs.

The motto “Small, but mighty!” applies to him: the journey along the coastal road alone is spectacular. Likewise the sunsets. But the adults-only club also spoils you during the day with everything that beach mermaids could wish for: large swimming pool, access to the beach, white Bali beds for up to three people, comfortable sun loungers, towels, beach bar and sophisticated cuisine with classic Mallorcan dishes on the sun terrace. And the view of the turquoise sea.

2. Shiva Beach Club: Auspicious at Llucmajor

The Shiva Beach Club is only a good five kilometers further south on the coast near Badia Blava. With a style mix of “Maritime” and “Bohemian”. With the view of the bay of Palma. With a small swimming pool, various chill areas, music, bar and restaurant as well as palm trees.

The special thing about this beach club is the atmosphere created by the maritime color duo white and blue in combination with lots of raffia. And about the blue Fatboys in the sand on the beach in front, with low, shabby-look tables and sun sails flapping in the wind. Relaxed, light, lively – simply divine. But the name of the facility already gives it away. Shiva, the main deity in Hinduism, translates from Sanskrit as auspicious.

3. Ponderosa Beach Club: Chill out in white dunes

Natural beach with fine, white powdered sugar sand, six kilometers long: Playa de Muro in the north-east of Mallorca is located in the spacious bay of Alcúdia and, thanks to its white dune hills, can call itself one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The highlight here is the Ponderosa Beach Club with its comfortable lounge furniture under shady umbrellas, its barefoot restaurant and the casual bar. You don’t need shoes here, you can leave them in the car.

The feeling of digging your toes in the sand contributes to the cheerful, relaxed atmosphere in the beach club – and of course the kitchen, which conjures up Mediterranean delicacies at a high level, and the bar with its huge selection of cocktails. They also taste particularly good in the evening with live music or when a DJ is playing. The philosophy of the Ponderosa also conveys a good feeling: slow food and sustainability are very important. Social projects in poor countries are also supported. The Ponderosa Club is also suitable for families as it is located directly on the sandy beach that slopes gently into the sea.

4. Beach Club Gran Folies: Wellness, yoga and privacy

Surrounded by mountains on the water: Port d’Andratx in the west of the island has the reputation of being one of the most beautiful ports in the Mediterranean. Not far from this beauty is the next one: the Beach Club Gran Folies on Cala Llamp. Its unique selling point is that it is built between the cliffs. Sun loungers, a VIP zone with Balinese beds, the saltwater pool and a bar-restaurant are nestled between rocks with a view across the sea to the rugged coastline.

The offer also includes wellness treatments such as massages or “yoga and breakfast” on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. The themed parties are also popular, such as September’s “Gran Gatsby Night” – all in elegant white in 1920s Long Island style or the Full Moon Party on August 1, 2023. The chic ambience also attracts guests who take the yacht into the bay and then have the yacht service pick them up. A certain level of privacy is therefore guaranteed. After all, the club is one of the most exclusive and oldest on the island.

5. Zhero Boathouse: relaxation in Magaluf

Magaluf is known for the biggest nightclubs and some of the wildest parties on the island. When it comes to beach clubs, most people think of the famous Nikki Beach Club. If you want a little less glamour, choose the Zhero Boathouse, right on Magaluf’s beachfront boulevard. It is easy to reach by car as there is a public car park just a two minute walk away.

Lots of wood, warm cream and sand tones characterize the style of the Boathouse. There is a small pool with a bar, comfortable sunbeds and lounge sofas, sun loungers, towels, parasols, a restaurant in the shade of pine trees, a small boutique and chilled music – perfect for relaxing after a busy night. Anyone who is impressed by the well-kept concept will find the sister club Zhero Beach just 18 kilometers away in Palma.

6. Puro Beach Clubs: Two classics all in white

When the first Purobeach opened in June 2005 on the peninsula near Cala Estancia near the airport, it was a minor sensation: a few meters above the azure blue sea, everything shone in white. The wooden deck. The loungers (there are now more than 100) and lounge couches. The bar and the restaurant with the beautifully set tables. Plus chillout sound. The lifestyle concept in a relaxed atmosphere got around quickly and today a total of five Puro Beach Clubs are very popular (also on Menorca, in Barcelona and in the Algarve).

Half an hour away, on the other side of the Bay of Mallorca, there has been a second Purobeach since 2017, in Illetas. Of course, everything is kept in white there. Yoga sessions, spa treatments, a private beach, direct access to the sea and cuisine inspired by Melbourne, Marrakech and Miami cuisine are also available. Something special.
