Your own hairstyle can be styled quickly and easily. Pony hairstyles don’t come to mind that quickly, but there is a new trend hairstyle that convinces us otherwise. May we introduce: Chin Bangs.

Haircuts with bangs are currently more popular than ever and are experiencing a true revival. For a long time, curtain bangs were the undisputed number one, but the trend hairstyle is now being replaced by a new style. Models and influencers are now sporting chin bangs.

What are chin bangs?

What is behind the trend is relatively self-explanatory. “Chin” means “chin” in English. Chin bangs are a pony version in which the fringes end at chin level and taper rather narrowly towards the bottom. You can decide individually how wide you want to wear the pony strands. Chin bangs are traditionally worn with a center parting, so that the strands frame the face perfectly. Model Gigi Hadid demonstrates it. She wears her chin bangs a bit wider and in a bun.

This is how you style the trend correctly

In contrast to the popular curtain bangs, chin bangs are not quite as voluminous, but rather worn smooth. The strands of hair are a little longer and the bangs look particularly good when the rest of the hair is tied back. A bun or ponytail is therefore an excellent way to show off the pony in the right way. A low-slung bun looks especially good. With Elsa Hosk we see how to do it right. She wears her hair strictly back and only lets the chin bangs fall in her face. The hairstyle looks elegant and casual at the same time.

Luckily, you don’t need to put in that much effort to get the style right. For the right “chin” look, divide your hair into a neatly drawn middle parting that you pull up to the front of your head. You can straighten the lengths with a straightening iron or you can use a round brush and add some volume to your hair with a hair dryer. This is especially recommended for wavy or curly hair structures. The cut also looks super nice with loose hair, as you can conjure up a great frame. It doesn’t matter whether you prefer your hair straight or wavy, this hairstyle always creates wonderful contours.

Who do chin bangs look best on?

Everyone can actually wear chin bangs. However, they look particularly good on heart-shaped or broader face shapes. The narrow strands on the right and left of the face optically lengthen the hair by emphasizing the forehead and cheekbones. This makes the face appear narrower. However, if you already have a rather narrow and elongated face by nature, the hairstyle can be a bit too much as it provides additional length. Also good to know: Chin bangs are perfect as a transitional hairstyle for anyone who is letting their bangs grow straight out.
