SEOUL (Reuters) – China plans to resume issuing short-term visas to travelers from South Korea from Saturday, the Chinese embassy in Seoul said on Wednesday.

The announcement comes days after Seoul lifted similar restrictions, citing a drop in the number of COVID-19 cases in China.

Seoul last month suspended the issuance of short-term visas for visitors from China due to Beijing lifting its “zero-Covid” policy.

China, then in the grip of a new epidemic wave, had responded by suspending the issuance of visas for South Korean travelers.
