In addition to these functions, which can be found in the “Smart Check” tab, there are also other modules at the top of the program window. This includes the Uninstall Wizard, which helps you remove unnecessary programs from the system. The Windows on-board tools are rather cumbersome and slow here. This tool allows you to uninstall multiple software at once. You can see the corresponding space savings on the right.
Another exciting module is the Duplicate Finder, which you can also use to free up some memory, but in a different way. It can happen from time to time that files are duplicated on the hard drive. TuneItUp finds these duplicates and removes one of the versions for you. Don’t expect huge space savings unless you have large video files or duplicate hundreds of photos.
The fourth module, the “Media Files Manager”, also goes hand in hand with this. This is used to track down and delete large media files. Here you can easily filter by video, audio, photo or ISO – the latter in particular are often several gigabytes in size. You can also use the slider to set the minimum file size for more accurate results.
