Chris Hemsworth: Is Thunder God Thor Retiring?

How will the thunder god continue after "Thor: Love and Thunder" in the MCU? This is what Chris Hemsworth thinks of his superhero retirement.

Will Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth in the Thor series, be the final Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie starring the god of thunder? Actor Chris Hemsworth (37, "Avengers: Endgame") has a clear opinion on this, as he said in an interview with the Polish magazine "Elle Man".

"Thor is way too young for that"

When asked about a possible retirement of his Marvel character after "Thor 4", the native Australian said: "Are you crazy? I'm not retiring. Thor is far too young for that. He is only 1,500 years old." He went on to explain that the fourth "Thor" adventure was "definitely not" the movie he would say goodbye to this brand. "At least I hope so," Hemsworth said afterwards.

"Thor: Love and Thunder" is announced for February 2022. As with "Thor: Decision Day" (2017) Oscar winner Taika Waititi (45) is directing. Chris Hemsworth is again supported by Tessa Thompson, 36, aka Valkyrie. In addition, Natalie Portman (39) returns as Jane Foster. About the fourth part, Chris Hemsworth reveals: "After reading the script, I can say that I'm really looking forward to it." In reference to the title, he promised a lot of "love" and "thunder".

He was happy to be part of the Marvel universe after the events in "Avengers: Endgame" (2019) and to be able to continue the story of Thor. Although he couldn't reveal anything about the plot, he said he had "more fun" reading the script than "Thor: Day of Decision". And that's saying something, Hemsworth said, "because this film was brilliant".
