The new “Sex and the City” episodes almost had to do without Chris Noth. “Mr. Big” has now explained why.

New episodes of “Sex and the City” without Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker, 56) eternal flame “Mr. Big” (Chris Noth, 66)? This idea was absolutely impossible not only for the fans of the cult series. But as Noth now in an interview with “Yahoo Finance Live” has given away, the makers of the “SATC” sequel called “And Just Like That …” had to work hard to convince him to participate.

Because in his opinion the story of John James Preston alias “Mr. Big” was told in the original series and the accompanying films. “A kind of creative negotiation took place because I didn’t have the feeling that I could offer anything else in this role,” said Noth. But that changed after a conversation with executive producer and screenwriter Michael Patrick King (66): He was “such an incredible writer and he had incredibly creative ideas. After we sat down and talked about the potential we can still achieve with the character, I was completely there.”

Kim Cattrall is certainly not one of the party

“And Just Like That …” is co-produced by the three leading actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis (56) and Cynthia Nixon (55). They slip back into their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes. Kim Cattrall (64), however, will not return as Samantha Jones. In January of this year, HBO Max announced the new edition of the cult series about the New Yorkers. It will likely be seen on the streaming service from 2022.
