Chrissy Teigen reveals her ‘miscarriage’ two years ago was actually an ‘abortion’.
Chrissy Teigen, 36, revealed Thursday that her miscarriage two years ago was actually an abortion. Speaking at social impact agency Propper Daley’s “A Day of Unreasonable Conversation” summit, the US model also said that realizing it was, in fact, an abortion had been a shock to her.
The abortion saved her life
Two years ago, when she was pregnant with her third child, Jack, she had to make a lot of “difficult and heartbreaking decisions.” “Halfway through the pregnancy it was clear that he wouldn’t survive and neither would I if I didn’t get medical attention,” she said in the talk, titled We Made That Choice.
Teigen – who has children Luna, 6, and Miles, 4, with husband John Legend, 43, and is currently pregnant again, also emphasized that she had great medical care and loving friends and family to support her during the difficult time supported time. She was also grateful for the support of strangers, after the couple went public with the news in fall 2020that they had lost their son Jack at 20 weeks due to a pregnancy complication. At the time, they called it a miscarriage.
Findings after Supreme Court decision
She continued to open up about her miscarriage before stopping herself. “Let’s just call it what it is: It was an abortion,” the star said. “An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest I never figured it out until a few months ago.”
Teigen said she came to this conclusion after the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade ruling earlier this summer. When she expressed her sympathy to Legend for people who had to make such emotional decisions, he made it clear to her that she was one of those people.
