The Legend family is about to grow! On August 12, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen revealed they were expecting their third child on social media. An unexpected pregnancy, both for the fans and for the couple! The singer explained on Instagram that it was the little "surprise" of the lockdown. " It was not planned (…) We are very excited and we thank you for all your messages ", he said in a short video posted to the social network on August 17.
For her part, Chrissy Teigen took the opportunity to tell on Twitter how she had discovered her new pregnancy. The model said she was very scared when she learned of being pregnant. And for good reason, she had undergone an operation for a breast reduction a few weeks before!
A scary discovery!
"I had a pregnancy test before my operation, and the result was negative (except it really should have been positive)," she explains. Before adding: "I did another one after the procedure, negative too. To be honest, for several years now I have taken a pregnancy test every month hoping it will be positive, but I am still disappointed. On the day of the release of John's new album, he woke up at 3 a.m. to go on "Good Morning America". I got up with him and I was like, 'come on, I'm going to do my monthly test to be disappointed again'. Except that it was not disappointment that I felt, but fear! The test was positive and I'm sure you can't have an operation if you're pregnant! ".
She wondered if the procedure she had undergone had been too risky for the baby. “I went to see the doctor terrified. Especially since I didn't think I could get pregnant naturally. So the chances of this pregnancy going well were slim… But you know, when you feel like giving up, life can sometimes surprise you ”, she said.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s third child is due in spring 2021. The couple are already parents to a daughter, Luna, 4, and a baby boy named Miles, 2. Suffering from a fertility problem, it was thanks to in vitro fertilization that the model became a mother twice. This third baby, conceived naturally, is a small miracle.
