Emotional reunion: after leaving the hospital, soccer player Christian Eriksen visited his teammates.

After his cardiac arrest in the group game against Finland, the Danish soccer player Christian Eriksen (29) left the hospital and visited his teammates. The Danish Football Association (DBU) announced on June 18that Eriksen was no longer in the clinic after a successful operation. It was previously confirmed that the athlete had been implanted with a defibrillator.

The message also said that Eriksen had also visited the national team and now wanted to relax at home with his family. According to consistent media reports, he brought his partner Sabrina and their two children with him. The players would have hugged him and would have been very happy to see Eriksen.

The team was so happy

His colleague Joakim Maehle (24) said that seeing Eriksen again was “emotional”. “It was fantastic to see it with my own eyes and not just on a screen,” said Andreas Skov Olsen (21). Eriksen’s visit was exactly what the Danes “needed” at the moment, explained Christian Norgaard (27).

Eriksen had collapsed on the pitch during his team’s game against Finland and had to be revived. It was later revealed that arrhythmias had triggered cardiac arrest. Denmark will have their last group game against Russia on June 21st.
