“I am not asking to enter the government, I will remain mayor of Nice”, declared Christian Estrosi, support of Emmanuel Macron, Tuesday on CNEWS.
Asked about Emmanuel Macron’s next government, the mayor of Nice said he did not know its composition. “I will not comment, I am not in the brain of the president and he always had a certain intuition so I think we can trust him”, he explained before continuing that for the Prime Minister , “it has to be a very unifying profile and that it responds to the profile that we have mentioned.”
If he trusts the President of the Republic, the latter assures that the latter has not promised him anything. “No, he didn’t promise me anything and I didn’t ask him anything. I first made a commitment to the people of Nice to stay close to them, ”explained Christian Estrosi.
The latter will therefore not be disappointed if he does not join the first government of Emmanuel Macron’s second five-year term. “I don’t have to be disappointed because today I want to respect my commitment. It is important the word given to its voters in politics and well you will have the opportunity in a few hours, a few days to see that my word given will be respected, ”he concluded.
