Ticks are annoying and can quickly become dangerous. Winter sports legend Christian Neureuther has now experienced firsthand that they can also cause serious illnesses. For the first time, he has now spoken about the ongoing consequences of his illness.
It was a shock for the whole Neureuther family: while wood was being cut, Christian Neureuther was bitten by a tick unnoticed, which infected him with dangerous early summer meningoencephalitis. The former ski professional does not notice this at first until his son Felix sends him to the hospital so that he can be checked through.
